Back in stock! A multi-use skincare oil that nourishes skin, and realigns out-of-balance bodies

Approaching bodies with gentle curiosity and care. Noticing new freckles, the criss-cross of veins or a place of tension that needs some stretching. Finding moments for listening to our bodies and allowing for daily realigning. Rest for the sake of rest. Simplicity, and natural skincare that works as well for faces as for knees and feet. The potentiality of touch, and finding some joy every day.

We think the most effective skincare is natural, multi-use and easy to apply – so that it becomes a part of every day. Having a simple and soothing routine helps to keep your skin calm and healthy.

Mount Sapo is a supportive oil that allows skin to function at its optimal best, doing its job of regeneration and repair. Our skin’s microbiome acts as a protective layer and when it’s balanced, skin is kept nourished. While a lot of skincare formulas can disrupt or strip back this important layer, oil helps to maintain a much-needed natural balance.

Our approach is based on supportive tools that restore balance and help aid our skin’s natural processes to heal. Addressing ageing, adult acne, congestion or stressed dull skin not just superficially but through movement and circulation. Facial massage, lymphatic drainage, and acupressure are dramatically beneficial (and natural) tools to lift, invigorate, detoxify, sculpt and promote radiance to the skin.

Mount Sapo oil is handmade in small batches from fresh organic ingredients in beautiful Dorset, UK.

We are proudly vegan and entirely plant-based, with no animal-derived ingredients. We are cruelty-free and never tested on animals. There are no parabens, fillers, chemicals or alcohols in Mount Sapo.

All ingredients are COSMOS Certified Organic by Europe’s leading organisation, which examines the quality and sustainability of the organic ingredients and packaging. Our All-Over-Oil is 99% organic – that missing 1% is because Palo Santo wood can’t be farmed, it can only be harvested from the wild, and so can’t be certified as organic.

Mount Sapo is designed for all-over use and provides excellent nourishment for your body, but it’s been specifically formulated to be airy enough for your face. Made with lightweight oils that won’t clog pores, it leaves skin replenished with a velvety finish.

Each month a portion of our profits is donated to Plant-For-The-Planet a non-profit organisation focused on reforesting and education on the climate crisis. At Plant-for-the-Planet Academies, 90,000 children have become Climate Justice Ambassadors and explore the critical topics of the climate crisis and global justice.

BODY APPLICATION (in under a minute!)

The quickest, fuss-free use of the oils on the body is to apply straight after cleansing on damp skin.

After a shower or bath, you can gently dry excess water or leave as. Applying oil liberally over damp skin allows for super quick application and absorption, all over. It’s up to you whether you want to use a little or generous amount, depending on how your skin is feeling, but you don’t need to use much as it will go further from the added hydration.

This minute or two can be a moment to engage and check in with your body daily – acknowledging all your parts, curves, nooks, and creases. A chance to lightly massage certain areas that feel good.

Bathing in Baltic Sea, 1969

  1. Apply oil onto dry skin, all over face and neck
  2. Wet a small portion of a cloth with warm water (avoid hot!).
  3. Apply a few drops more of oil to the dampened portion of the face cloth.
  4. Gently massage the face, neck and back of the neck with the moistened cloth. Moving the cloth in gentle circles for a light exfoliation.
  5. Rinsing is optional

  • If you have time, let the oil work its magic for 30s after you first apply
  • Ensure you use a clean muslin or washcloth each time.
  • Move the cloth in light circles – no need to be vigorous as the way the cloth is woven will provide gentle exfoliation.
  • Any oil left on the skin is totally fine and in fact great!
  • If you’re feeling like you need more moisture after cleansing, then massage in a few extra drops to your face and neck.

All-over-oil is to be enjoyed every day, all over, for all skin types (dry, acne, oily, sensitive or itchy)

A common misconception is that oily or acne-prone skin should avoid using oils. It’s actually often the opposite, by embracing and working with your skin’s natural oils your skin rapidly starts to heal and reset the balance. We recommend removing harsh, stripping cleansers, acids, and exfoliators and instead simplify your routine using the all-over oil for 3-4 weeks to see notable improvements. If you’d rather use our oil solely as a moisturiser, we highly recommend using a very gentle nourishing cleanser.

All-over-oil softens, nourishes and quenches thirsty parched skin by nourishing the skin’s barrier rather than stripping or disrupting our natural PH.

Whilst this product is suitable for sensitive skin, essential oils are powerful and hardworking, and unique to the individual user – therefore top using irritation occurs. You could always use it on your body instead which is likely to be far less sensitive.

There are many differing opinions regarding the use of essential oils during pregnancy however the founder of Mount Sapo has enjoyed the oil throughout her pregnancy. For those interested,  Authors Schnaubelt and Wildwood pointed out – there are ‘no recorded cases of miscarriage or birth defect resulting from the therapeutic applications of any essential oil.’ There are common myths surrounding certain essential oils such as Rosemary and Clary sage, however, the
National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, states that used diluted they are perfectly safe and not contra-indicated.
